História:

Argentinos Juniors was founded on August 15, 1904 as Argentine Athletic and United Football Association of Villa Crespo. A day earlier, young people from the Villa Crespo neighborhood of Buenos Aires, who were part of the "Martyrs of Chicago" team, played a match against "Sol de la Victoria" and after winning 3-1, they invited their opponents to form the new club .

In spite of receiving the invitation of the Argentine Football Association (future Asociación de Fútbol Argentino - AFA), to participate in the main division of the championship in 1912, Argentinos Juniors only debuted in the elite ten years later. The leaders claimed that the vacancy should be won on the pitch, which was only achieved in 1921.

Nevertheless, the main titles of the club would only be reached in the years 1980, with the Metropolitan Championship of 1984, Argentine Championship of 1985 (the team would return to be champion in 2010), Libertadores of 1985, against America of Cali in the final and of the Inter-American Cup of 1986, against Alajuelense ("La Liga"), of Costa Rica. Before, the team from Buenos Aires would reveal to the world, one of the greatest players in history: Diego Armando Maradona, the main idol of the country in football.

In 1976, with only 16 years old, "El Pibe de Oro" would debut in the main team. For Argentinos Juniors, the 10 shirt was top scorer of three Argentinean and two metropolitan championships, being the main player of the national vice-championship in 1980. The following year, Maradona said goodbye to the club that revealed him being negotiated with Boca Juniors. In 2003, the Argentinos Juniors baptized his stadium with the name of the player.

As the principal, Argentinos Juniors usually acts in the red shirt, adopted because the founders are sympathetic to the Argentine Socialist Party. The reserve uniform usually undergoes many changes, like the use of the white shirt or different shades of blue.
